I absolutely agree with Pacific Union’s blog article entitled, “2013: Timing is Right for Bay Area Sellers.” Whether you’re a potential homebuyer or seller, it is a must read.
Here is what’s happening in our Lafayette marketplace:
According to today’s Trendgraphix data, in January of 2012 we had 60 homes on the market in Lafayette. In January of 2013 we had 24! This is an incredibly frustrating drop in inventory for hungry buyers. This is causing panic and buyers and Realtors alike are desperately looking for inventory off-market or coming soon.
My phones are ringing off the hook with reporters, buyers, sellers and Realtors all wanting to know what inventory I expect to be released in the months ahead.
The best advice I can share with everyone is to take a deep breath and commit to a trusted professional. Doing research on your own and not committing to one specific Realtor will not help you get a home faster or for less money.
I am asking my clients looking to buy a home to trust me and commit to using me. Buying a home is a big decision and you need to know all the facts about the property, the location, valuation, etc. When a buyer commits to me, I also commit to them.
