It’s learning the old fashioned way – neighbors sharing personal stories. And it works.
There’s something really compelling happening on the recently updated Sustainable Lafayette Website. There’s a growing archive of real world local stories — sustainability successes, lessons and new ideas, divided into categories:
- Resident Stories
- Business Stories
- Non-profit Stories
- School Stories
Our current favorite? The article about the new home Lafayette residents Gwenn and John Lennox built. A project that started with the careful destruction of their original home because the Lennox family planned on rebuilding on the same lot using as many of those original home materials as possible. Innovative and interesting!
Sustainable Lafayette, which recently earned 501-C status, is a network of Lafayette residents and organizations dedicated to sharing real world stories about sustainability. A network worth a closer look, if you haven’t had the chance yet.
