Oakland arguably leads the nation for “tightest real estate market,” but the real winner could be you if you’re thinking of selling your Lafayette home soon.
In its recent blog article about Oakland’s Tight Real Estate market, Pacific Union outlined July real estate statistics showing Oakland leading the nation in low housing inventory, thanks to Oakland’s 59% drop in housing inventory compared with the prior year. Oakland also ranked first in the nation on shortest time it takes to sell a home, just 22 days per July statistics.
The resulting competitive housing market environment is good for more people than just sellers of Oakland homes. We’ve also noticed a compelling ripple impact on this side of the tunnel.
“What’s not in the statistics is that many of the people who are selling in Oakland are moving to Lafayette for the schools, and that’s good news for sellers here,” says Lafayette Realtor Dana Green. “Demand for prime properties is still strong and these buyers are entering our market and bidding aggressively on homes as they have just been through a positive experience while selling their Oakland-area properties.”
