Lafayette Juniors Annual Kitchen Tour: 20 Years Strong

The Lafayette Juniors Annual Kitchen Tour turns 20 this year! I cannot believe it has been two decades since I first proposed this fun idea while serving as major fundraising chair of this fabulous organization. This was at the same time that I formed my company ‘The Tailored House’ and was providing interior design and staging services. I knew from my clients that they had curiosity about the home design of their friends and neighbors, and I knew how inspiring a particular paint color could be, or how a farmhouse sink could dictate a kitchen’s (or even an entire home’s) vibe. It was upon my clients’ natural curiosity and desire for inspiration that the Kitchen Tour was created.

20 years x 6 kitchens per year = 120 kitchens. That’s a lot of inspiration, but even more amazing is 20 years of fundraising equaling thousands of dollars for many local non-profits! It’s also a lovely display of generosity on the part of the gracious homeowners who open their homes to the crowds that politely guide themselves through the masterfully designed, unique, and elegant kitchens.

This year’s Kitchen Tour is Saturday, May 4th from 10am – 3pm. Please consider purchasing a ticket ($50) to the annual Lafayette Juniors Kitchen Tour at www.lafayettejuniors.org. Your support will help to benefit the work of these local non-profit organizations: Family Harvest Farm (a program of the John Muir Land Trust), An Elderly Wish Foundation, Family Support Services, Family Violence Law Center, Community Violence Solutions (CVS )/ Children’s Interview Center, and MISSSEY (Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting and Serving Sexually Exploited Youth).

I hope to see you there!
