Happy Valentine’s Day!
As we share our love for those special to us, let’s also share that love with Lafayette by gifting and dining locally. We are lucky to have so many great retailers and restaurants in our midst, with staffs more than ready and willing to assist us in finding just the right gift item for family and friends. Most Lafayette retailers and restaurants are safely welcoming customers, but each will also happily assist with a telephone order. The Luck boutique staff, for instance, can guide you in selecting the perfect clothing item or accessory, which they will wrap and have ready for a quick pick up. They even deliver! The same is true for many local stores, and nearly all of our great restaurants are making it super easy to enjoy a gourmet meal at home. Here are some of our team’s favorites:
Flowers are always well received on Valentine’s Day. Why not go one better and gift a garden item, to be enjoyed year-round? Orchard Nursery’s selection can’t be beat.
It’s cold outside! Warm-up with a cozy robe or plush throw from Misto Lino.
Emerson Grace is not only an interior design firm, they also feature a small selection of artful and creative retail items such as vases, pillows, and jewelry. Similarly, Indigo and Poppy offers home décor services, but they also carry whimsical interior accents and gifts such as candles and home fragrances.
Show your town pride with a Venture Lafayette (or Moraga or Orinda) Townie cap. Each comes in a variety of colors. Order over the phone from Venture Quality Goods, and pick up at the door.
Let one of our wonderful restaurants do the cooking for Valentine’s dinner. Craving the comfort of braised short ribs? Call Metro Lafayette. Is Carne Asada calling your name? Try Rancho Cantina, and don’t forget a margarita to-go. Pick up a pizza and salad at Tutu’s, or peruse their organic market for chef prepared, ready-to-heat items. Longtime Lafayette favorite Postino offers a three course Valentine’s Day dinner featuring Dungeness Crab Bisque, Beef Tenderloin, and Chocolate Raspberry Trifle. Dine outside, or order for pickup. Locando Positano’s spacious, covered patio is open, but you can also order to-go their full menu of salads, pizzas, hearty pastas, and secondary items. And don’t miss the family style dinner options at The Coop featuring barbecue ribs, roasted chicken, bolognese, and a variety of sides.
How fortunate are we to have so many great and local options? By shopping and dining locally, we can all show our love for Lafayette, and help our community to thrive.
