Armando Samaniego, MD, a Lafayette resident with more than two decades of experience as an Emergency Room physician, is STAT MED’s Founder and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Samaniego designed STAT MED to provide what he says neighbors and friends told him they wanted, a viable local alternative to the hospital emergency room.
Explains Dr. Samaniego:
“While talking to my neighbors and friends about ER medicine and their healthcare needs in particular, I heard a recurring theme: A typical trip to the ER can be very upsetting on many levels. They wanted an option that offered excellent care, located close to home, delivered in the least disruptive way possible, so they could get back to their lives and their families.”
Experienced in both hospital management and emergency medicine, Dr. Samaniego set about making that happen, including picking just the right location and finding other seasoned emergency room doctors to round out the staff.
While staffed and equipped to handle many urgent care needs, STAT MED is also designed to be your go-to source for medical care when you don’t have a regular physician or can’t get into to see yours for any reason, including for routine things like school, athletic and camp medical clearances.
Plus, because STAT MED shares office space with Dr. Brad Piatt’s Inview Imaging center, needed X-rays and other diagnostic imaging needs are easily handled on site, too.
I’ve known Dr. Samaniego and his family for years through our children’s school and Boy Scout connections. He’s always stepped in to help in medical situations even when he was on location solely as Dad or neighbor. I really like that we can now call on Dr. Samaniego on a more official basis as needs arise.
