This headline is true in and of itself, but it’s also the apropos name of Lafayette’s annual holiday celebration, to be held this year on Friday, December 1, from 4:00 to 6:30pm in Plaza Park. This is probably our team’s favorite annual event – we’ve been a sponsor since inception – and each of us loves how it so aptly illustrates the many reasons people choose Lafayette as their home. The fun, family-friendly event has become a Lafayette tradition, and is a warm example of the communal camaraderie that makes our small town so special. Featuring live music by local student musicians, a community sing-along, crafts, holiday treats, the Town Hall Elves, a tree lighting, a student art show, and a visit from Santa on his ‘only in Lafayette’ historic fire truck sleigh ‘Old Betsy,’ It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette is free for everyone and all ages are welcome. Whether you are a longtime Lafayette resident, a newcomer, or are simply considering Lafayette as your future home, please come to downtown Plaza Park on December 1 to experience the magic of the holiday season – and the magic of Lafayette.
